City Clerk/TreasurerThe City Clerk/Treasurer performs a variety of administrative duties including maintaining official records, collecting taxes, conducting elections, keeping city accounting books and overseeing the operation of the City Clerk/Treasurer’s office. The City Clerk/Treasurer attends City Council and Finance/Personnel Committee meetings and maintains the official minutes of those proceedings.
Inspection DepartmentThe Inspection Department provides citizens, businesses, and residents with permits needed for building or remodeling. The department inspects buildings, plumbing, heating and ventilation, air conditioning and electrical work on commercial and residential buildings. It ensures that state and local building codes are being followed. The Building Inspector has office hours on Monday from 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM and can be contacted via cell phone at other times.
Public Works/UtilitiesThe Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining the City’s infrastructure, including storm sewers, sanitary sewers and water mains, wells, water towers and the waste water treatment plant. Public Works also maintains all of the City’s public streets and alleys and supporting infrastructure including street lights, sidewalks and street trees. Public Works is also responsible for collection of household waste, recyclables, brush, leaves (in season) and snow removal.

Municipal CourtThe Hidden Valleys Municipal Court processes traffic citations, including first time OWI, and ordinance violations issued in the Cities of Viroqua and Westby, and the Villages of La Farge and Coon Valley.
City AttorneyThe City Attorney provides legal advice and legal services to the City, represents the City in all legal matters, and prosecutes all ordinance violations.
City AssessorThe City Assessor is responsible for assessing the fair market value of all residential and commercial property within the City of Viroqua.
Park & RecreationThe Park and Recreation Department provides a variety of recreational programs for youth and adults. The department also maintains all city parks and oversees use of the parks by the public.
Fire DepartmentThe Viroqua Area Fire Department provides comprehensive programs focused on fire inspection and prevention, public education, and emergency response while providing the highest quality of emergency management for medical, fire, hazardous material, and other disaster type emergencies. The department operates with a full-time chief and a crew of about 30 volunteer fire fighters. The department serves the City of Viroqua and the Towns of Viroqua, Jefferson and Franklin.
Police DepartmentThe Viroqua Police Department provides safety and security services 24/7 for Viroqua residents and visitors. The department is committed to community education by offering a number of community-based crime prevention programs including D.A.R.E.
POLICE OFFICERS
LibraryServing the Viroqua area since 1898, the McIntosh Memorial Library offers six public internet computers and is a member of the Winding Rivers Library System. Our library participates in WRLSWEB, the on-line shared card catalog, which allows patrons to search for and receive materials from libraries in our seven county region. We offer children's programming for kids ages 2 – 18, which includes: story times, book clubs, and special events.

Viroqua Municipal AirportThe Viroqua Municipal Airport, FAA Identifier Y51, is located on the north end of Viroqua at an elevation of 1292 feet. Runway 11/29 is 3,346 feet long and is paved and lighted. GPS based instrument approach is available. Runway 2/20 is a 2,555 foot grass runway. The terminal building is accessible 24/7 to pilots. Hospitality services are available within walking distance. A new fuel facility is scheduled to be completed in 2005.
